Arthropod Community Structure in Oil Palm Nurseries

نویسندگان

چکیده

Nurseries are one of the essential agronomic activities in oil palm cultivation. Oil seedlings cultivated on a large scale, different from nurseries for other plantation commodities. The nursery expanse comprises various biotic components, which is Arthropods. This study aims to determine Artropod community and its function nurseries. research was carried out at two nurseries, Nagari Gunung Medan Kurnia Selatan, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra Province. Sampling using pitfall trap, yellow pan insect nets, direct collection methods. results showed that Arthropods make up ecosystem were insects spiders. act as phytophages, predators, parasitoids, detrivores. Phytophage found 700 individuals consisting 4 orders, nine families, 14 genera/species. Predatory insects, detritivores many 466 5 16 There species spiders nurseries: Pardosa sp Oxyopes javanus. A sub-canopy structure for simulating oil palm in the Community Land Model (CLM-Palm): phenology, allocation and yield

In order to quantify the effects of forests to oil palm conversion occurring in the tropics on land–atmosphere carbon, water and energy fluxes, we develop a new perennial crop sub-model CLM-Palm for simulating a palm plant functional type (PFT) within the framework of the Community Land Model (CLM4.5). CLM-Palm is tested here on oil palm only but is meant of generic interest for other palm crop...

Palm oil and palm olein frying applications.

Several million tones of palm oil and palm olein are used annually in the world for frying. This paper will discuss their frying performances in three major applications - industrial production of potato chips/crisps, industrial production of pre-fried frozen French fries and in fast food outlets. In the first study, about four tones of potato chips were continuously fried 8 hours a day and fiv...

A genetic similarity rule determines arthropod community structure.

We define a genetic similarity rule that predicts how genetic variation in a dominant plant affects the structure of an arthropod community. This rule applies to hybridizing cottonwood species where plant genetic variation determines plant-animal interactions and structures a dependent community of leaf-modifying arthropods. Because the associated arthropod community is expected to respond to i...

Plant genetic determinants of arthropod community structure and diversity.

To test the hypothesis that genes have extended phenotypes on the community, we quantified how genetic differences among cottonwoods affect the diversity, abundance, and composition of the dependent arthropod community. Over two years, five major patterns were observed in both field and common-garden studies that focused on two species of cottonwoods and their naturally occurring F1 and backcro...

Palm Oil and Palm Waste Potential in Indonesia

The expansion of oil palm cultivation in Indonesia has been driven by a strong world demand for food especially fats and oils. Commencing in the island of Sumatra, it spread out to other island like Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Irian but not to the island of Bali which was already well developed. The role of palm oil in developing remote inland regions and improving the standard of living of rural ...
